The Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures is delighted to welcome Yuliya Walsh as our newest Iecturer.
It's a pleasure to welcome Yuliya Walsh to the Slavic Languages and Literatures department. Prof. Walsh is joining UVa Slavic as a language instructor for the 2019-20 school year. She'll be replacing John Lyles as the head of Second-Year Russian and helping out in both the First and Third Year courses. Yuliya holds an MA in Sociology from Karazin University in Kharkiv, Ukraine and a PhD from Ohio State's Slavic Department. She has taught at Pitt and Ohio State as a TA in Russian and at Wright State University in Dayton as an instructor for 8 years, jobs that earned her enthusiastic student evaluations on a consistent basis. We're lucky to have her and wish her a great year!
